US Open of Beach Volleyball - Rules and Regulations

The approved rules of play for the US Open are the USA Volleyball Domestic Competition Regulations. A complete copy of the rules can be viewed and/or downloaded here. If you have trouble viewing it online, please save it instead and open it on your desktop.

The minimum age for participation in the US Open of Beach Volleyball is 16.

All two person teams, excluding Masters divisions, will compete under Olympic Beach Volleyball rules and regulations, ie. short court and rally scoring. Masters teams will compete on long court (30 x 60) and with side-out scoring.  All divisions will compete in pool play format, followed by playoffs.

Two-person coed teams must have one man and one woman per team. All players must be fully registered to participate.

Any team that has received a guaranteed berth into the event from an officially sanctioned US Open Beach Volleyball Qualifier MUST still fill out and complete the registration form and indicate the Qualifier event where you qualified in the proper location as provided on the form. This information will be verified.
